There are two issues that might be causing issues that are creating excessive U-Turns.  one might be the sequence table may need to be updated, the other might be the address are plotted on the map incorrectly.

The delivery sequence is optimized by the system and sometimes the way the system organizes a route is different from how a human might do it.  So, people see this and think the system is wrong with it is just different. (User preference)

Here is what to look for:

1st, Go to the sequencing section and put in the Plant, WAD (which most likely is DS) and the route.

As you can see it looks like 1005 Zucksville Rd does not belong in between 1015 and 1020 Cornwallis Dr.

You can use any of the sequencing tools to move this to the correct spot in the route.

If that does not fix the issue, the problem may be with where the address is plotted on the map.

Go to the Geocoding section to see if it is in the correct spot.

Pull up the plant and route, then find the address in question and zoom in.

As you can see in the picture above the address with the red arrow looks like it is plotted in between Cornwall Rd. and Zucksville Rd. It appears to have grabbed the Cornwall Dr. street segment.

In order to correct this we must unpin the address, go to the final unmatched records tab and re-geocode it to the correct spot on the map.

In order to re-geocode this, move the red arrow to the correct place.  (The Blue arrow is where Google thinks it should be.)  Then select the SAVE button.

You will then be shown a list of street segments.  Choose the one that fits your address.  Once you find the correct segment, choose accept candidate.

If you do not get a match, the street may need to be drawn in.  If this is the case, please send the information through the portal.

Anthon thing to look for is to check the dots on the map to make sure they are in the correct spot.  If not, you will need to re-geocode what is not in the correct spot.

One last point if you are still getting a lot of U-Turns, you may want to optimize the sequence.  Please note, this will remove the current sequence and redo it with the most optimized way to deliver the route.

Go back to the sequence section and pull up the WAD and Route.

Move all of the address to the left side bucket and make them all Un-sequenced addresses. Once they are all moved over, hit the SAVE button.

This will optimize the entire route.
